MSW, LSW,
Colleen Habick, MSW, LSW, is a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional committed to providing individualized, evidence-based therapeutic care. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University and brings a diverse professional background in behavioral health, hospice and end-of-life care, substance use treatment, and individual psychotherapy.
Throughout her career, Colleen has worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, grief and loss, substance use disorders, and significant life transitions. Her professional experience has provided her with a deep understanding of the ways trauma, loss, and difficult life experiences can affect an individual’s emotional well-being, relationships, and sense of self.
Colleen has a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and PTSD. She recognizes that trauma can have lasting effects on a person’s emotional, psychological, and interpersonal functioning. Her approach emphasizes creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where individuals can explore their experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, rebuild their sense of self-worth, and work toward healing and emotional stability.
Central to Colleen’s therapeutic philosophy is the belief that individuals are far more than their diagnoses, symptoms, or past experiences. She believes that every person has a unique story, inherent worth, and the capacity for personal growth and meaningful change. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Colleen views therapy as a collaborative partnership built upon mutual respect, trust, empathy, and shared decision-making.
Drawing upon her clinical training and professional experience, Colleen utilizes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach while incorporating evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual’s needs, strengths, and personal goals. She places particular importance on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship in which clients feel genuinely heard, understood, respected, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
Her experience in hospice and end-of-life care has also shaped her understanding of grief, resilience, and the complexities of the human experience. Through supporting individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging circumstances, Colleen has developed a profound appreciation for the importance of compassion, emotional connection, and meeting individuals wherever they are in their personal journey.
Colleen is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and helping individuals recognize their strengths, develop emotional resilience, and create meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
Above all, Colleen believes that healing begins when individuals feel safe enough to be heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Her goal is to provide a therapeutic environment where clients feel supported, valued, and empowered to move forward with greater confidence, self-awareness, and hope.
Colleen believes that a person’s past may help explain their struggles, but it does not have to define their future. Through compassion, collaboration, and a genuine therapeutic connection, Colleen strives to help individuals rediscover their strengths, embrace their resilience, and move forward with renewed hope and purpose.
